We are Emma and Sally and we really do love growing stuff on our allotment in St Leonard’s on Sea. Actually, we have three plots but only because Emma is a complete nutter who loves the place so much that she spends all her time there – if she is not obsessing about the seedlings in her potting room, researching all there is to know about veg or fretting about pests and diseases.
Sally is the flower girl, who loves a decorative border (we both think allotments should be beautiful as well as productive) and plants lovely things to attract bees (but preferably not birds, as magpies are pesky thieves and seagulls love to make a mess and are unbelievably stupid).
Anyway, that’s us. Emma is a refugee from the City and has swapped the urban grind for the joys of Mother Nature. Sally is a writer who sometimes leaves her computer to hang out with the veg (and the flowers)
